[Accepted] Raid lock extension
Since extending raid ID is bugged here i would like to ask if its possible to some other way prolong it so we can continue raids that take too long...
I know ppl are going to say something like ''why not do it 2 times in one week'', but since i dont have time to make raids 2-3 times a week but mostly on weekends i would like to be able to continue my raid from where it stopped... I am mostly talking about Ulduar for myself since i have many ppl who need Yogg Saron achievements but it takes way too long getting to him and then ppl get tired and we usually dont do much and give up real fast because raid takes 4hours + and it gets late
Also this isnt something thats unblizzlike but something thats bugged atm.
Yog is pretty bugged and hard to do and takes a lot of practice so this can help alliance achieve 1 or 0 keepers achieve
Also i am sure it will help ppl with less time and maybe weaker raiding guilds to get Light of Dawn as well
I am not asking to invent some lock.. just prolong the one that ppl have if they for example write a ticket a day earlier asking for it.

We can't prolong instance cds. Whatever comes to anyone's mind requires core changes and the end result might as well be the official way to extend instances.

That might be good idea. GM .kill all bosses we did last week. Same effect as we pushed button

As i said its not unblizzlike to ask for extended ID... all we actually need are bosses that were dead to stay dead.. and i dont think its too hard for GMs to do that
+ i dont believe u will have many requests like this (other then myself) so it wont be much of an obstruction for GMs to do their regular jobs

Well, tbh if you want to consider my decision take, for example Lich King heroic, it`s made to be killed after raid struggled, got exhausted from other bosses. This time spent, exhaustion of players till they reach the final boss is a part of the ICC difficulty made by blizzard.
First I don't think it's a good idea to .kill boss previous a certain one making him more easily farmable. "But it can`t be farmed, we kill it only once per week and we already can kill all boss" yes true your raid I think it`s nice since you are sure that you can kill all bosses till the one you want to continue next week from, but how can GM be sure that the ones that you kill the previous boss with, will still be the same after .kill <prev bosses> happens?
They will give you the presumption of innocence but this requires more gm surveillance.
In the end i think It's okay ideea (even if i find it bad too) but requires time of GM to survey this to ensure that same people from last week gets invited, and no one else or an alt gets the favour to kill a certain boss before killing others.

This starts to branch too far out and consume more resources than it should. I'd suggest that more time is spent on fixing the Blizzard ID extension than monitor, record, verify and then carry out boss killing next week.

Too much work to be done by GM's manually as you'll always need either a full GM or a SGM to deal with this. It'd also need to be done by the raid leader and with everyone in that ID agreeing on the lock being extended else there'll be a shower of complains of people saying "their ID's didn't reset". We'll have to wait until it's properly fixed by TC devs.

Blizzard themselves implemented the raid lock extension feature in wotlk to help more casual groups spend less time on bosses they have already defeated, but to instead focus all their energy on the boss that held up their progression on the following week but ofc this came at the cost of losing the drops (which might help the raid with their progress) from previously killed bosses.Justicelight wrote:Well, tbh if you want to consider my decision take, for example Lich King heroic, it`s made to be killed after raid struggled, got exhausted from other bosses. So your claim that blizzard intended raids to waste time & struggle on content that has been cleared already, being a built in part of the difficulty of the instance is a moot point.

TBH i wanted only me (as raid leader) to get lock extension and then just gather nibs who want to continue that would simply accept my ID

Well, nevermind actually, it can't really be extended that way. I just remembered we have that fail-safe script to clean cooldowns. The only way would be killing bosses and getting someone saved which is way too fishy

Gona try again with this topic....
Again its about Ulduar 25 for me since i dont make other raids....
I tried making a 2 day run 3 weeks in a row... its very hard finding dedicated ppl that can have time for 2 day runs... so second day turns out to be complete fail with top of 18 ppl...
Let me repeat what i ask...
Since u stated its impossible to extend raid lock... i have few GMs in my raids on their playing chars...
I ask for some GM whoever isnt too busy to take 5 minutes of his time... with confirmation of GM that was in my raid to kill bosses that were dead in the raid from week before so we can continue raid where we left off....
Ppl say its abuseable... but i honestly dont see how... since its only me that will have ID... everyone who comes to raid will have to accept ID with less bosses and this option is completely blizzlike but since its bugged its just a small workaround...
Oh and if ur scared of me taking EOT for dead bosses when GM kills them then feel free to delete all my emblems.. i dont have any use for them any more D:

If we do that for you, we'll have to do it for every leader leading a progressive raid, whether it's Ulduar, ICC or any other raid.
