[Accepted] PTR longer?

#1 » Post by Deathswalker » 01 Apr 2013 10:54

Hello, This might be a question asked before, but why is PTR only online so short. Why not all the time, or lets say, the whole weekend?
Food is not the answer. It's the question. Yes is the answer.

To make sure that everyone logs in at the same time. Even with that, it's usually not enough to test an entire raid or battleground.

if enabled whole time, or all weekend, a lot of people will stop playing on the live realm, and this is a blizzlike server after all
the ptr is only for testing every once in a while, hence its low online time :)
teh char list ( 80s ) :
Jynx / Zubat / Alyce ( Swagmourne ) / Discord / Redtube
Disruption / Perplexity / Magejkdruid / Swagstormxqt ( Swagmobile )
Vinegar ~ Lvl 51 Rogue

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music

Okay, thanks in that case. I'd say make it longer like 6h or something, but I think this'll be alright too. Thanks for answering so fast.

We are currently discussing the possibility of enabling PTR permanently.

Well some of us are doing some other things at the times when it's enabled. Opening it means that players will be able to form a group and go and test stuff out.

I'd say that trying is the best one can do in order to higher themselves from the people crying and only complaining. Whilst you try, it doesn't mean it is always going to be the most successful result but I'd like to think that it is still a better choice than standing idle.

We've decided to let PTR remain permanently open. For now, it's in experimental stage. I'll write the whereabouts of such change soon, for now, moving this to accepted.
